The pen stays near
Lorenzo J. Reyna is known up and down California as the man who comes equipped with a pen, pad and camera as he looks for stories on the next rising football stars. But long before Lorenzo got into the writing game as a sports journalist, he once took the stage at Poetry Slams to share his art to the masses.
It was there where Lorenzo, or "Zo" and "L.J." to his peers, became fond of sharing his voice and letting his thoughts spill on a paper or on a mic. He touched base on issues that not only plagued him, but others around him.
He's had to overcome personal triumph as well: from nearly being penniless and living off of gift cards, to overcoming unemployment, to facing homelessness and recently, surviving Still's Disease, which nearly eliminated his ability to move his joints and ligaments.
His ultimate goal is to find ways to uplift and inspire, especially in a society that he sees is starting to become fragile toward hope.
