Getting re-acclimated with my poetic/artistic side

When I turn on the news or scroll through social networking sites, it's been turmoil, despair and enmity that has occupied my news feed. It's gotten to the point where it was time for me to say that enough is enough.
My writings aren't just meant to create a platform for me to share my thoughts and views, but I hope it reminds people that there is good left in a dark world; a world we can still inspire if we choose the right routes to go about it.
Waking up my long lost artistic side is one route for me to take. The people closest to me know that I'm a sports writer and talent observer on the football field. Well, it's time for me to share that journalism is a small part of who I am, but it's not who I really am. I'm a believer that I'm something more.
Long before I was writing football stories, I was writing rhymes and sharing them at Poetry Slam showcases during my Fresno State days. My book of rhymes are still in intact, but I plan to share more. My poetry not only detailed my own personal struggles, but touched base on world issues.
Thanks for taking the time to read this. Hope you come back to critique or share with others! Time for me to let the ink spill....
